Assessing Your Home
Our Assessor will attend to your property to inspect the damages to your home and prepare a detailed scope of works outlining the required works for your insurance company to review. Depending on the extent and type of property damage, we may engage specialist trades to also attend your property: –
Specialist Trades
-
- Roof Report: Qualified roofing trade who can safely access your roof to determine the point of water ingress and complete a full review of your roof
-
- Electrical Report: Certified Electrician to determine if your electrical fittings and fixtures have been affected by floodwater and the electrics to your property are safe to use
- Engineers Report: Specialised Engineers are engaged if the structure of your property has been compromised. They will create detailed engineering scopes and repair methodologies
- Restoration Report: If your insurance company engages AJ Grant Restorations, our professional restorations team will be appointed to remove and document damaged contents, complete property sanitisation, mould remediation, and remove building debris and damaged internal components.
In some instances, AJ Grant Building has the authority to approve your repairs and progress your claim to our dedicated repair team; if your claim is more complex and the damages are significant, and above our authority to proceed, we will expedite your claim to the insurance company for review.

The full extent of damage is unknown as some areas and homes are not accessible due to flood waters. The damage, however, to the properties we have seen is severe, leaving customers feeling very vulnerable.
